Good location and clean room, BUT 1) The reception desk staff was not welcoming at all; she barely said hello, did not smile, and provided minimum information on the establishment and no information at all on local maps & attractions upon arrival. Checking in was a very cold and unpleasant experience. 2) Concierge desk was unattended whole duration of my stay. 3) Mediocre service at lobby bar. 4) The bathroom door did not close in our room. 5) The toilet cabin sliding door did not close either. 6) The battery in the safe had to be changed. 7) The battery in the body scale had to be changed; even with a new battery, the scale did not work.

As expected, the Fairmont Chicago is top notch! If you seek a great experience, welcome home! It was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The rooms were extremely spacious with numerous amenities. A great spot in the downtown area, so close to everything!

Good location, tired hotel

The hotel is in an excellent location. But for Fairmont, the rooms are very tired. There is construction taking place in the main restaurant on the lobby floor, so seating, bar area, places to eat are at a premium. We searched for a place to bring our parties to have a drink and play cards, and got push back for sitting outside the lobby bar area. Long line for check-in, baggage check. Several times we had to go to the reception to ask someone to retrieve our bags. Line was always long, baggage check was not staffed appropriately.

Excellent customer service. Mandana went above and beyond for my family on the Gold Floor. Great breakfast and friendly smiles. Location is excellent, especially with kids as you were near many parks. Overall, excellent experience parking is a little expensive but was totally worth it in my opinion.
